I was born and raised in Tehran, the capital city of Iran. I grew up in a big and very hospitable family.  My mother and my grandmother were great cooks. I remember we always had families and friends coming to our home for celebrations, dancing and enjoying my mom’s food. My mother is my biggest influence in my journey. 

I immigrated to the USA in 2005. While I was adjusting to the new norms, getting to know new people and places in the Bay Area I realized how much I missed our culture, especially sharing food with loved ones This motivated me to start cooking some of the dishes I missed the most like Mirzaghasemi, a popular eggplant dish from Northern Iran, and share them with my coworkers and neighbors. Every single person who tasted my food told me how delicious it was.  I realized then I had inherited the talent from my mother, and all my time spent in the kitchen from just 15 years old had been paid back by a gift of cooking. 

My family and friends always ask me to cook for their parties. I create a table that is bursting with my joy for cooking and designed like a piece of art with the flavors of Iran. I feel blessed to share my passion for food with others.
